Blackpool run in six tries to post a comfortable win against a hard working Tyldsley side. The visitors arrived short of players so, as is the Blackpool way, the home side provided plenty of players to make it an even contest, with The addition Of Bazza Tucker who for reasons only known to his daft self decided to join That shower across the way in Thornton.
Blackpool started the brightest and after soaking up a few minutes of pressure ran the first try in the corner after creating the opening with quick hands through the pacy backline, Tom Sanderson finishing the move off. This pretty much set the tone of the 1st Half with the home side running the ball at every opportunity. Further first half tries were ran in from Mick Harrison and the ever improving Back row Tom Rutherford (TJ) With Gaz Woodhall also adding to his already seasonal tally. No conversions were successful and the 1st half ended 20-0 to the home side.
Blackpool started the 2nd half in much the same vain, with Tom Rutherford scoring his second try after a mistake was punished from the kick off. The home side then failed to capitalise on this dominant position and several tries went begging with simple wrong options being taken. Then Mick Harrison was quite rightly sin binned and with the scrum being depowered the momentum was further quashed.
Tyldsley took full advantage of the Home sides lack of concentration and scored a well deserved try through George Smith, a Blackpool Player in an away shirt!
Blackpool did wake up from the Kick off and Leon Mason restored the gap with a fine individual effort after brushing aside several would be tacklers. The extra weight he has picked up since fatherhood clearly helping his cause........
However the final say came from the Tyldsley centre who finished the scoring with a fine try under the posts. The final score 32-12.
Blackpool dominated for most of the encounter, with Captain Stewart Joyce leading from the front with his barnstorming runs and big upfront Tackles, Stuart Charnock pretty much had the line-out to himself and Tom Rutherford Kept Bazza "give me a full 8" Tucker in his pocket all afternoon. Tom Sanderson was secure as ever at full back and when called into action didnt miss a catch or tackle. Full credit though must go to Tyldsley and there Captain for travelling to Blackpool, the whole tyldsley side. including the Blackpool additions, made for an entertaining afternoon and a good size crowd showed there appreciation at the final whistle. MOM for Blackpool was Captain Stewart Joyce with the Visiting scrum-half taking the plaudits for Tyldsley.
Coach Mike routliff was a little disappointed with the missed opportunities, however 3 games in sees Blackpool sitting 3rd in the table. Next week the side travel to Bolton.
