Chris joined Blackpool in 2019-20 pre-season after relocating to the Fylde coast in back in 2017.

Having played football for most of his childhood, Chris was a late bloomer to the game, playing for his local side Eccles at the age of 14. Consistent performances at Full Back caught the eyes of District coaches earning him the call up to represent Greater Manchester at U16’s. It was here that Chris made a couple of cameo appearances in the cup for Eccles Junior Colts, earning him a place in the Bowl Winning side of 2010, as well as picking up Coach’s player of the season for the U16’s.

Chris enjoyed a successful season as a Junior Colt and several solid performance’s had caught the eyes of the county coaches. Having attended several selection days, Chris had finally been given the opportunity to represent Lancashire at County level. Unfortunately for Chris, a freak hip injury during that season left him out for 12 weeks and quickly cut from County set up. Finally finding fitness at the tail end of the season Chris helped his 4th Division Eccles side overcome all odds to finish Runners Up in the Lancashire Cup Final in 2011.

Chris had his sights set on becoming a regular 1st teamer at Eccles, and after a gruelling pre-season, he made the number 15 shirt his own at the young age of just 17, with standout performances at Heaton Moor, Blackburn and Fleetwood. Chris continued to apply his trade in the 7th Tier throughout the 2011-12 Season. He also continued playing Senior Colts fixtures on Sunday’s, having played on the Saturday and again helped his side reach another final, losing out to a solid West Park side at Wigan.

Work commitments have meant that over several years Chris has been reduced to the occasional run out for Eccles and recently formed Wythenshawe. He also took part in numerous Casual rugby gatherings on Friday nights.

Chris joins us looking to regain his love for the sport and looks forward to pulling on the Blackpool shirt for the 2019 season
