Chris first made his debut for Blackpool in 2003, teaming up with his brother Richard and dad, Ed, who were already involved with the club as a player and coach respectively.His first game for the club was as part of the much heralded 'thirsty thirds' team, captained ironically but the club's new chairman Sean O'Brien, where he eventually established himself on the back row.
In time Chris eventually moved up to the second team before being handed a first team debut by then coach, Paul Dooley. Following his call up, he remained a peripheral figure around the first team squad and later changed his playing position to hooker following the retirement of club legend, John Carroll.
From around 2005, Chris became an integral member of the first team squad and remained so for the proceeding 3 years, before a work enforced him to take a year and a half out of the game.
Chris eventually returned to Blackpool towards the end of the 2009/10 season and was one of a few, who stood by the team as they reduced down to one side. However, he left the club in 2012 to join Ormskirk, after he relocated.
Chris enjoyed six successful seasons at Ormskirk, appearing in two cup finals and also had a spell as second team captain, taking over when they were bottom of the table and steering them to safety, before consolidating them as a top half of the table side.
In the summer of 2017, new chairman, Sean O'Brien, convinced Chris to return to Blackpool as the new club captain for the 2017/18 season. Since his return the club has seen a dramatic turnaround in fortunes culminating in a promotion at the end of the 2018/19 season. As club captain and player coach, Parlour was pivotal to the club’s success and remains as the club’s captain for the 2019/20 season.
