The league structure for the 2012 North West men’s league has been confirmed ahead of the kick off of the tier 4 competition on April 21 2012.

Fixtures for the North West men’s league which includes six divisions as well as an entry division will be unveiled along with the high profile sponsors of the competition at an official launch in St Helens next week.

John McMullen, North West men’s league chairman said: “The Management Group has worked really hard to use all the feedback provided and tried to accommodate as many requests as possible.

“We are committed to working with clubs and looking to the future as we understand that there will be some challenges we face but together I am sure we can overcome these.

“It’s just nine weeks until the first round of the competition and everyone is looking forward to the big kick-off.”

North West men’s league clubs without ongoing commitments to existing winter leagues will compete in the ‘war of the roses’ competition during March.

This competition kicks off on Saturday March 10 and teams have been split into eight groups of four and will play three group games with the winners and runners up progressing through to the knock out stages.

The ‘war of the roses’ will eventually culminate in a North West final on May 5 with the overall North West winner then facing the Yorkshire champions who will be decided through a similar process East of the Pennines.
