Stones went into this game with half the team unavailable as the country unlocks from Covid19 and the sound of church bells shatter the peace. So, the lads faced the team one place above and 1 point ahead amid the September glut of two games a week and the only way for the management to assess the players was in play, not training.
From the off Stones started the brighter of the two sides with Smith getting his first sight of goal as he raced through on goal, but checked back, loosing the edge and the ball, but the spark had been ignited and on 9-minutes Smith was on the end of a corner ball and powerfully headed the ball into the bottom corner of the goal past the sprawling keeper.
