Stones started this game intent on avenging the FA Vase exit in September and certainly attacked the home goal with purpose, but it was Ingles that opened the scoring when against the run of play the broke forward, following a clumsy challenge they played the advantage with Stones waiting for the whistle and capitalise with a shot from the edge of the box. However, it only took Stones 3-minutes to level the score when McNally raced down the right and cut the ball back to Parker-Meadows who drove a low ball through a crowded defence and past an unsighted keeper. Stones maintained the tempo and pressure but could not break through a spirited home defence.
The second half saw Ingle reduced to 10 men on 51-minutes, but two minutes later it was Ingles who grabbed the lead, then on the hour they extended they lead and capped it off with 5-minutes remaining and Stones seemingly nothing left in the tank.
