Reserves in heavy defeat, New management team announced

Blofield United gain their second league win of the season with a hard fought 2-1 win over Hellesdon.

An Isaac Mace Free kick put them ahead in the first half before Robbie Fryers had the chance to put the beavers two up from the penalty spot, which regrettably was saved.

Hellesdon then equalised just before half time through Liam Mann.

Reece May then grabbed the winner ten minutes from time for the Beavers, who still had to be indebted to a fine save by Ian Stones late in the game, to give the hosts the three points.

With more players returning from holiday and work and a couple of signings in the pipeline, things have started to look a bit brighter for the first team, who this Saturday have the trip to Suffolk to play Beccles Town FC, 2pm kick off.

The Reserves woes continued with a heavy 6-0 defeat at the hands of a rampant UEA reserve side, who, quite frankly, could have won by a much larger margin.

Following a committee meeting on Monday, the club have appointed Mick Hall as their new Reserve team manager and he will closely with Jay Andrews in trying to turn around the team's struggling fortunes. Mick has experience at this level with Hingham FC & Thorpe Village and the committee wish him & Jay every success in what is a big challenge that lays in front of him.

The Reserves are at home this weekend against Downham Town Res, kick off 2pm.
