Juniors lose out in ten goal thriller!

Rhuddlan Town from the Clwyd League premier division visited Cae Cob in the N.W.C.F.A Junior cup round two. Two leagues higher than the Juniors they were slight favourites in the tie. The match opened with end to end football with both teams creating chances. Rhuddlan were quick going forward and their neat passing game created chances for Jay Whitehouse and Matty Roberts but the Juniors created good chances foe Allaway and Gardiner. On 18 minutes though Aron Edwards drove a free kick into the net to open the scoring for the Juniors Rhuddlan stuck to their game and on 27 minutes captain Jay Whitehouse fired in to equalize. He nearly doubled his tally before half time but his header went over the bar. Allaway then fired a rasping shot over the bar. Half Time 1v1. The second half opened well for the Juniors as on 48 minutes Allaway fired in from close range. Rhuddlan attacked and on 58 minutes a penalty was awarded as Whitehouse was upended. There was controversy re the exact site of the foul but Whitehouse stepped up to equalize. The game swayed from end to end but on 71 minutes Allaway again was on target for the Juniors. Within two minutes Matty Roberts fired an equalizer for Rhuddlan. Both teams strived manfully to get the winner but to no avail. Full Time 3v3 . Both teams although tired kept going well and on 93 minutes Jordan Rossi headed home a Lawson free kick for the Juniors. The lead again was short lived as Matty Roberts popped up to score again for the Town. Both teams got chances to score but fired wide until on 107 minutes Jordan Bellham scored for Rhuddlan. The Juniors then created a fine chance as Lawson ,Hallas and Gardiner created a chance for Allaway who fired wide on 110 minutes. Ian Davenport in space as the Juniors defence pushed for an equalizer settled the tie by firing a cross shot home on 117 minutes. Extra Time 4v6 .For Rhuddlan Whitehouse starred the Juniors to a man gave a heroic performance and Rhuddlan knew they had been in a match as they stated at the end of the tie. We wish Rhuddlan the best in the next round. The Juniors can build on this great performance.
