Juniors loose out in Penalty shoot out!

The Juniors travelled to Abergele in the first round of the NWCFA Junior Cup. On 2 minutes Allaway had an effort on goal but on 5 minutes
Aston fired over for Abergele.Then Atkinson had an effort on goal as Abergele pressed however on 15 minutes Allaway scored from a defensive mistake.On 25 minutes Allaway went close again whilst Heycock fired wide on 35 minutes for the Juniors. Jack Williams Abergele's play maker went close on 37 minutes.On 38 minutes Allaway went close again however Atkinson leveled the score on 44 minutes with a rasping shot.Half Time 1v1.The Juniors started off well in the second half and Allaway went close on 47 minutes then on 49 minutes Williams fired towards goal for Abergele but Murphy saved well. On 50 minutes Allaway scored from a headed effort whilst Holland headed over for Abergele.On 55 minutes Allaway was free again but Roberts in the home goal saved well.On 67 minutes after a period of pressure Abergele equalized through Mcdougall .Aston then hit the woodwork for Abergele and Williams fired a free kick over.On 76 minutes Heycock went close but on 80 minutes he hit the target with a guided shot.However Abergele equalized on 85 minutes as Williams netted. Both teams gave everything in a final effort to win the tie but neither secured the all important goal.Full Time 3v3.
So to extra time and as the match had gone, the extra time ebbed and flowed ,a typical cup match.Mguire went close on 95 minutes however
Abergele went close through Holland a minute later. On 112 minutes the Juniors were awarded a penalty as a Heycock Allaway move was abruptly stopped.Allaway converted the penalty.Abergele tried for an equalizer but the Juniors held firm until the last minute as James Lloyd rose to meet a corner and score.So on to penalties which Abergele won scoring 3 to the Juniors 1.Something to work on for the future lads! For the Juniors Murphy is to be praised as he kept goal well instead of regular Josh Roberts who had family commitments.For Abergele Lloyd Williams shone whilst the whole squad are to be commended for the Juniors as they battled and gave a spirited display.
