Juniors advance in Cup!

On a windy winters day the Juniors travelled to Llandegfan in the Car Boot Cup.The Juniors played downhill in the first half and were straight onto the attack Gareth Hughes went close after 3 minutes for the Juniors.On 5 minutes Sam Hallas fired wide and on 8 minutes Rhodri Williams headed over for the Juniors.Both teams were battling a fierce wind but on 10 minutes Hallas fired in from a cross from Mguire.Gareth Hughes took control of the midfield and provided by good support from Rees created chances.However Llandegfan tried to get their game together and on 25 minutes Fritter had a long range effort.Hallas was on target again on 28 minutes as he slotted home another cross. Hughes again went close for the Juniors on 30 minutes.On 33 minutes Allaway fired in to make it 0v3.On 36 minutes Rees had a good run and shot which home keeper Griffith saved.Llandegfan strove to close the gap but keeper Roberts held well from Parry.Half Time 0v3. In the second half both teams again had to battle the elements and on 55 minutes Hallas fired a free kick over the bar.However on 60 minutes Llandegfan scored as a clearance rebounded into Crofts path and he netted well.Llandegfan gained heart and Chadd went close as did Boyes.The Juniors substituted as the wind continued to blow and on 65 minutes Connolly was on hand to score from an Allaway assist .Connolly again went close on 70 minutes and Parry fired just over from long range.Llandegfan kept going to the end and gained corners but the Juniors defence held firm with Griffiths and Aron Owen staying solid.On 87 minutes Leo Owen slotted a neat pass to Allaway who scored from close in. For Llandegfan Paul Roberts shone whilst Hughes starred for the Juniors.It was a sporting game with both teams striving their best in the windy conditions but the Juniors move on to the next round.
