Six Goal Thriller Starts Season!

The opening match of the season saw the Juniors travel to Pentraeth Reserves on a windy afternoon.The Juniors opened brightly and after 5 minutes were ahead from Mguires free kick .Pentraeth stormed forward and went close on 15 minutes but the Juniors kept their passing game going and Rees and Gardiner went close on 30 minutes .On half time Thomas crossed for Allaway to fire just wide.Half time 0V1.
The Juniors going down the slope in the second half immediately gained the initiative on 47 minutes as Allaway fired a cross shot home.
Pentraeth came back and on 49 minutes as Kerry Williams fired home from distance.Both teams were playing nice football with both midfields gaining advantage in turn.On 51 minutes Allaway fired wide for the Juniors whilst Pentraeth tried their luck from distance.On 68 mintes Thomas went close for the Juniors as did Gardiner on 70 minutes.However it was Pentraeth who converted next as Alston from a tight angle netted on72 minutes.The Juniors replied as Thomas headed a corner just wide but on 76 minutes Mguire converted from a free kick to give the Juniors the lead again.On 78 minutes Allaway lobbed over the bar and Thomas fired just wide on 80 minutes.Pentraeth had the last word as Dylan Jones fired a long range free kick home on 89 minutes.Both teams went for the winner but time was the winner.Both teams tried to play attacking football throughout the match and the neutral might say it was a good score draw however both teams might feel that they should have won the Juniors might rue the glut of missed chances.However it was a point a piece and a decent start to the season with Connor Rees being man of the match.Full Time 3v3
