Town first class striking!

On a wet afternoon the Juniors took on Holyhead Town Reserves and it was a thrilling encounter. The match opened with Gareth Hughes for the Juniors firing wide. Then Town attacked and Mark Owen was given space to fire home the first goal on 4 minutes. However the Juniors were level on 6 minutes as Ioan Thomas fired home.Town then attacked and again Mark Owen netted as he was given far too much time in the box.On 10 minutes Robert Thomas extended the lead as he scored from close range .The Juniors changed tactics and Murphy the makeshift keeper was given more protection as different combinations were tried in central defence as the Juniors were short of their regular combination.Allaway on 20 minutes went close as the Juniors attacked but Asa Thomas on 26 minutes was on hand to score for Town further extending the lead to 1v4.
However the Juniors scored immediately as Ioan Thomas netted on 27 minutes to cut the deficit. Mark Owen again went close for Town on 30 minutes then Luke Gardiner had a couple of chances for the Juniors the latter he scored from close range to close the gap on 35 minutes.Half Time 3v4.The second half opened with Allaway heading home a Connor Rees cross on 47 minutes to equalize. However Luke Miles had too much space around the penalty box on 50 minutes and he finished well.On 54 minutes the Juniors were level again as Rees headed home well.
Then on 56 minutes Asa Thomas had a speculative long range effort which skidded like a bar of soap past Murphy to gain the lead for Town.
The Juniors then attacked and Hughes had an effort which was disallowed whilst Thomas had a shot well saved by the Town keeper then Hughes fired home on 82 minutes to equalize again.Luke Miles then scored a solo goal placing the ball in the corner of the net on 85 minutes. The Juniors strove manfully to equalize as Rees had a couple of efforts over the top whilst Hughes fired wide but it was not to be Town ran out winners 6v7.
Luke Miles was the man of the match for Town whilst Rees and Thomas starred for the Juniors. The Juniors found the net well but have to tighten up at the back ,maybe with the regular combinations back for future matches this will improve. It was a match played with good sportsmanship and both teams served up a thriller for the neutral.
