Long range effort wins the day!

On a damp afternoon Valley visited Cae Cob.The Juniors shuffled their pack and gave a number of players an opportunity to start. From the off both teams attacked and Allaway for the Juniors fired wide on 4 minutes. On 6 minutes Miles went lose for Valley. On 8 minutes Mguire was sent through but fired wide. The Juniors then had a period of pressure and Hughes and Rees went close as did Mguire, however Valley battled well and on 35 minutes Mike Williams went close. On 40 minutes Luke Roberts struck the Juniors post with a great shot but the Juniors went upfield and Hallas nearly scored. On 43 minutes Valley took the lead as from a goalmouth melee the ball came to Williams who fired in off Rees.Half Time 0v1. The second half saw far more chances created by both sides and Hallas on 47 minutes went close for the Juniors. On 51 minutes Wiliams shot was saved by Roberts in the home goal.Mguire and Rees went close for the Juniors and on 56 minutes Williams saw his overhead kick go wide for Valley. The Juniors created a raft of chances which Hughes ,Mguire and Allaway scorned and on 60 minutes Harry Jones struck the post for the Juniors.Dion Evans then hit three good efforts wide of the Juniors goal but on 66 minutes Mguire got the equalizer as he picked up Allaway's pass to guide his shot home. The game then saw relentless attacking from both teams as Williams's shot for Valley was cleared off the line on 73 minutes then Rees for the Juniors had two good attempts on goal and on 80 minutes Hughes struck the post for the Juniors. On 83 minutes Lawson headed onto the bar for the Juniors from a corner. Then on 84 minutes the match changed as Bailey for Valley launched a long range pass forward which the home keeper misjudged and the home defence saw the ball trickle into the net.The Juniors went gung ho for goal and Rees and Allaway went close to an equalizer but Valley held out.Full Time 1v2. As a match it was an advert to the game both teams attacking and playing decent football. For Valley Dion Evans and Tudur Williams shone as did their keeper Finn and striker Miles. The Juniors gave another good performance with Lawson and Griffiths strong in defence and Rees created well. Both teams gave 100% the Juniors might rue the missed chances and they would have preferred losing to a rasping drive rather than the long range effort which eventually won the day however Valley will take the win.
