Mia Woods has returned as manager of the Bognor Regis Town events venue Seasons -- and plans to help the club score off the pitch to the greater good of the town's community.
Mia is a former manager of Seasons, the football club's HQ at their Nyewood Lane ground, and she is now back in the role with plans to stage more charity and community-led events in Seasons.
One of the first moves Mia has made is to reduce the cost of various drinks on match days -- Carlsberg at £3 a pint, for instance -- and she is working to make the cost of hiring the venue for events such as weddings, christenings and funeral wakes even more competitive.
She said: "The club already embraces the community and charitable causes and we are looking at how we can make Seasons more accessible to organisations that fall into this category. This events facility is incredible with loads of parking, and we really want it to be used more often."
Simon Cook, Rocks' general manager, says the club is keen to fulfil an even bigger role in the community. He said: "We very much have the community at heart and want to explore how we can do so more fully and Mia is already working hard in the role to do this.
“As a club we give under-16s free season tickets, and we are of a mind to help local charities, too. We helped the homeless charity Stonepillow by staging their Big Sleep Out over the summer -- and we have a charity fire walk here in aid of St Wilfrid's Hospice coming up. Seasons is also a very popular wedding venue and we have plans to stage more and more events such as hosting quiz nights, tribute bands, ladies’ nights and lunch events.”
