Battling Bognor gained their second win in the space of three days and a clean sheet to end their league win drought t home in the Bostik Premier League.
Mason Walsh was back as part of a full bench but Jimmy Muitt and Jimmy Wild were missing through injury.
Muitt is expected back at Bishops Stratford next week.
Theo Widdrington also returned to the line up following his hamstring problem.
Dan Lincoln gathered a very early cross from the left by Taylor Miles inside the first minute.
Chad Field was clearly brought down by the Hornchurch defender just outside the box.
Theo Widdrington's dipping direct freekick over the wall forced Calum Chafer into a diving save as he pushed it away with both hands.
Glenn Wilson went to ground in his own half off the ball and he received treatment on 7 minutes.
Kenzer Lee replaced the injured Wilson on 9 minutes for the Urchins.
Joe Tomlinson was brought down by Remi Sutton on 13 minutes and he got away with a caution only.
Then George Saunders received the ball from George Purcell before striking it low from some distance before committing Lincoln into a save down to his right on 15 minutes.
A cross from the left bounced out to Purcell again and on the volley he knocked his chance over the bar soon after.
A long diagonal ball over defence by Harvey Whyte found Bradley Lethbridge. He did his best to control it before firing it over the bar on 19 minutes with just Chafer to beat.
Alex Bentley and Sutton were both in the tackle to bring down Tomlinson but Widdrington's freekick was cleared away.
Purcell's curling freekick had to be palmed out one handed by Lincoln for a corner and he then had to fist the ball out from the following corner from the left side.
Following Tomlinson's throw in from the left, Lethbridge ran inside towards the middle of the Urchins half but his shot was always rising over the bar from 25 yards on 35 minutes.
Lincoln and Field had a mix up of communication at the back almost letting Purcell in but as eventually it was Harvey Reed who hacked away the loose ball.
Purcell beat Reed on the left but his cross went through the box unaided and then Bentley's cross was headed away.
Bognor sprang on the counter but Lethbridge, having made it to the area, was blocked with his left footed strike.
Following the corner and Whyte’s knock on it was Widdrington who was brought down in the box by the defender. Widdrington took it and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way on 41 minutes giving Rocks the lead.
Rather bizarrely Richard Gilot went into the book on 43 minutes for kicking the ball away in the middle of the park.
Miles hit a bobbled shot that Lincoln gathered easily at the stroke of half time as the referee indicated two extra minutes.
Tomlinson did well to swing the cross in from the left but Lethbridge couldn't quite get there.
Reed was blocked following another corner for Bognor but then Doug Tuck on the rebound smacked it well over the crossbar.
Whyte ran down the right before passing square to Lethbridge who in turn tried to find Dan Smith with a forward pass but instead the ball rolled out for a goal kick.
Then Sutton's left sided cross found Sean Marks with a free header before he committed Lincoln into a save.
Whyte worked the ball forward and it looked like he did too much before Gilot latched onto the loose ball before lashing it low and into the bottom left corner from outside the box on 50 minutes.
A diving Chafer couldn’t stop it from going in as it tucked nicely into the net.
Reed went into the book on 60 minutes as he tripped up Purcell on the run. But Purcell’s freekick was struck straight into the wall.
An injured Field had to be replaced on 61 minutes by Mason Walsh who was returning from his own injury.
Purcell hit another stubbed shot straight at Lincoln after winding his way inside the defence on 65 minutes.
Sutton's spinning cross from the left found Saunders in the area but with the ball just beyond him in the air he headed it wide.
Charlie Stimson then directed his header wide of the left post following Sutton's lofted forward ball soon after.
Lethbridge found the ball in the centre of the pitch before passing it onto Smith but he belted it high over the bar.
Tommy Scutt replaced Sanders on 75 minutes for Bognor. And following the corner from the right it was Whyte who struck it wide from the back post following Tomlinson's a deep cross.
Purcell turned inside before hitting it with his left foot and forcing Lincoln into a decent save on 78 minutes on the break.
Then Walsh won the ball cheaply in the centre of the field. He ran on with one of his signature surging runs before shooting low and forcing Chafer into another save.
Lincoln had to dash out to boot the ball out of play but in the process he clashed with Whyte who was tracking back. Whyte did return to play though.
Saunders hit another effort low at goal but again it was easily saved by Lincoln on 82 minutes for the visitors as they just didn’t give in.
Scutt smashed it low into the area following hard work from Smith but it was deflected away for a corner. The corner was short from Walsh to Tuck who crossed it towards the back post but Whyte couldnt quite get there and it bounced out for a goal kick.
Whyte slipped up allowing Purcell in but he was blocked off thanks to an onrushing Lincoln interception before another cross was headed wide by Marks.
Hornchurch were rather wasteful though and further proof of this saw Kenzer Lee head the ball wide as another left sided cross curled into Bognor's area on 88 minutes.
Tuck was replaced by another injury stricken player, returnee Corey Heath on 89 minutes.
Purcell picked out Marks with yet another cross from the left. Marks's low header was saved well though by Lincoln.
The goalkeeper then held onto another Purcell cross which was flying towards goal as Bognor had to hold on during five additional minutes of stoppage time.
A Saunders corner was then punched away by Lincoln deep into stoppage time as Bognor were dealing with the pressure placed on them by the visitors.
Bognor held firm though to win this game at Nyewood Lane and will hope to continue in this form away next Saturday when they travel to Bishops Stortford.
