Bognor RFC Christmas Lunch

This year we have a 4-course spectacular with the icing on this Christmas cake being the return fixture against our local foe – Chichester.

As I sit here writing I think I can hear the distance sound of a Caribbean steel band that has wafted in on the unseasonably mild southern winds.

However, instead of reminiscing of past holidays I am going to mention the dreaded C word – no not Chichester but Christmas!!

To be more precise I am talking about the famous Bognor RFC Christmas Lunch which this year will be on the 18thDecember.

This year we have a 4-course spectacular with the icing on this Christmas cake being the return fixture against our local foe – Chichester.

Now as most of you are aware we are always heavily booked for the Christmas lunch and this year is no exception. On the Sunday after the last luncheon, I already had potentially 150 + people who wanted to come to a facility that can accommodate roughly 100 diners in comfort.

So, what do we do I hear you ask?

Well, as I stated at the last lunch all attendees will have first refusal for this year’s festivities. Along with a very generous sponsor for the day, our main sponsors and invited guest we are already over our initial limit.

Therefore, for the first time ever we are going to ask all attendees to pay in advance for their tickets. If any tickets are unsold by 20th November, they will be offered to those people on the waiting list.

I have already approached all those that came to the last league lunch and I would ask that they please confirm their commitment that they have made to me by purchasing the requisite number of tickets that they have already indicated they require.

Please note that anyone purchasing more than their agreed number will have the additional monies returned.

Anyone who was not at the last league lunch who would like to attend could they please respond by return to this email or call me (John Don) on 07971 052857. I will then add them to the reserve list and if people drop out or do not take up their allocation then tickets will be distributed to those highest on the waiting list.

Because I know people will be disappointed that they cannot get a ticket for the Christmas lunch I have also organised a luncheon on the 6th of November – more details to follow later in the week.
