Bognor RFC U13s welcomed Shoreham RFC to Hampshire Ave for the next stage of the Sussex waterfall leagues. Both teams met early in the season with Shoreham winning 35 – 25, so it promised to be another entertaining game.
Bognor started with a bang and early pressure saw the ever improving Joe Fuller score the opening try with a close range bulldog special. From the restart Bognor were soon in the Shoreham half applying more pressure and eventually scoring the second try through big number 8 Taylor Kennett. Ben Simmonds was next on the scoresheet for Bognor with a fantastic solo effort, the Bognor scrum half and captain made a dart from the back of a dominant scrum beating 3 defenders to score in the corner. Bognor continued to dominate the first half with further try’s from Zack Kuelemans and Charlie Pemberton, halftime score Bognor 25 – 0 Shoreham.
Shoreham started the second half in strong fashion and soon had their first try of the day. The game becoming a little scrappy and Bognor’s defense not disciplined like in the first half, Shoreham scored 2 more to make the score 25 -15. Bognor regrouped and started getting back to basics and Taylor Kennet scored his second try of the game.
