It is with great sadness that I have to inform the club of some devastating news from one of our long standing members Alan Gretton-Doidge (affectionately known as Big Al). You might not know him by name but if you have ever been up the club on a Saturday it is likely you will have heard his big booming voice across the bar!

Alan has informed us that his eldest son Scott was struck down with a massive bleed on the brain on Saturday evening. Whilst every effort was made to save him he was pronounced brain dead on Sunday and he passed away peacefully in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Whilst this is a tragedy for Alan and his entire family, through the incredible generosity and selflessness of Scott's wife and close family - I can report that in his death Scott has been able to help 5 donors receive life saving or life altering transplants.

Our hearts and thoughts go out to Scott's wife and young child, Alan, Jayne, Jordan and the entire family.
