Now the bar at the rugby club has been renovated and a new drinks supplier, Green King have been appointed, Bognor Rugby Club are on the lookout for volunteers to help run the bar during the forthcoming rugby season on a one off occasion or on a more regular basis.

To encourage volunteers, Bar Managers will NOT now have to cover a whole week, that is Sunday and Saturday or Tuesday and Thursday evening for training as was previously the case.

The bar will now only be open on a Saturday between 1pm and 8pm, any earlier or later by agreement and on a Sunday between 12noon and 2pm or earlier if no games or no customers.

Bar cover for any game on Sunday kicking off later during the afternoon should be provided by persons associated with that game.

It is hoped that bar cover on a Sunday will be undertaken by those who would normally be in attendance on that day.

Bar cover is also necessary for social events held at the club and again it is hoped that new Bar Managers could help cover these special occasions.

These rearrangements are aimed at providing greater flexability for helpers, reducing the inconvenience and time spent by volunteers and to encourage others to take up the role of Bar Manager.

Full training on the bar and associated equipment will be given and any new Bar Manager will be supervised until they feel comfortable.
Unfortunately if we are not able to supplement the current pool of Bar Managers, especially given the changes to bar duties that should make it easier to cover periods when the bar is open, it may be that the bar, which is the life blood of the Club, will not open on some Saturdays or Sundays.
