Normally, the first weekend of March would be the opening rounds of the NWML but as we all know the world is in a different place at the moment in time, however, with the announcement of the government Road Map, and some hard work by those at the RFL, it looks like the return to training and playing is just around the corner.
The proposed plans will see training sessions commence from w/c 29th March (with a phased return to contact and full tackling), optional friendlies on 24th April and 1st May, before the start of the league season on 8th May. Although recent announcements have meant there is a great deal of optimism around the return of Rugby League activity we must bear in mind the provisional dates set are closely tied to the wider public health situation and progression in line with the Road Map outlined by the government.
We will be looking to train twice a week, with each session lasting for a maximum of 1 hour, and be asking for some player feedback other the coming weeks to give us a good indication of what days and times works best for the majority.
Obviously, this season is going to be slightly different to those of the past and it's possibly going to be even tougher on the coaches and volunteers as there will now be even more rules and regulations for us to follow due to COVID, however, these will be for the benefit of everybody's health and safety so please help us by adhering to any rules we set out.
Once we have decided on a set date/time/venue of training we will post again, but in the meantime please use the following link to register with LeagueNet so that we are ready to hit the ground running come the end of March https://membership.sportstg.com/regoform.cgi?aID=25749&pKey=1d1dd7e22ff74ab0fea304dc340a49ba&formID=64495
