With no competitive games planned for the remainder of 2020, we have decided to end our Tuesday evening training sessions and look ahead to making a fresh start in 2021. Even though the RFL have mentioned limited contact versions of Rugby League, or even the possibility of full contact 'localised friendlies' in October/November, we have chosen not to 'opt in' due to player and pitch availability during those months.
It's obviously hugely disappointing that our 25th Anniversary season has been interrupted, but, rightly or wrongly, the government and the RFL have done what they thought best for the whole population during a global pandemic. All we can do is plan ahead for 2021, aim for a well attended pre season, and after a full year of NWML league fixtures we can then go on and enjoy the Rugby League World Cup, with two games being played in Bolton.
Local restrictions depending, we will look into organising a couple of social events to keep everyone together, starting with our Bowling Day on Saturday 12th September, 12.30pm meet, at Dobbies Sports and Social Club, 250 Radcliffe Moor Rd, Bradley Fold, Bolton, BL2 6RL.
Whatever happens, stay safe, and in the words of Bill & Ted, "Be excellent to each other".
