Borrowash came into this game knowing they needed a reaction after last weeks heavy defeat to Sutton Town AFC.

They made changes to squad in this game. In came joint manager Sam Kellogg, Tom Betteridge, David Leigh and Lee Mitchell.

Vics started the game well controlling the pace of the game and they carve out a couple of early chances which with more composure would have been seen a great start to the game. The first real action of the half happened when a corner from Jamie Pawley was headed by Thom Kellogg and all in the ground celebrated as it looked like it hit the inside of the bar and net to give Vics the lead, but the linesman refused to put his flag up. Gedling created a couple of half chances that couldnt be converted, but the game then changed when Jarrod Westcarr received his marching orders for 2 yellow cards in the space of a few seconds for something he said the the referee. Within 2 minutes of him being sent off Vics took the lead after a great cross by David Hind was taken expertly by Marc Finlay on the outside of his right boot and calmly finished to give Vics the lead they needed after last week. The sending off and goal seemed to spur Gedling on and they forced Vics back for the reminder of the half without creating any clear chances.

Half Time - Vics 1 - 0 Gedling MWFC

The second half was a pretty scrappy affair with Gedling fighting for their life's to get back in the game after going down to 10 men and if Vics were more clinical in front of goal then the game would have been over much earlier. David Hind, Darren Ruston, Jamie Pawley and Callum Thompson all had chances to put the game out of sight, but failed to finish when in good positions. Gedling to their credit kept coming at Vics and had some late pressure without ever troubling Steve Smith in the Vics goal and after a final few frantic minutes the final whistle gladly came to get Vics back on to winning ways with another clean sheet.
