A much-loved and long-serving member of our football club family, Gerry gave many years of dedicated service to Bosham FC as Treasurer, and her commitment and contribution to the club were later recognised when she was made a Vice President.

A friendly, welcoming and familiar face around the clubhouse, Gerry played an important role during a challenging period in the club’s history, serving as Treasurer while her husband, Richard, took on the role of Chairman. Together, they gave their time, energy and support to help the club through those difficult years.

Away from the paperwork and finances, Gerry’s love of cooking and crocheting often found its way into life at Bosham FC. She could regularly be found helping with kitchen duties on match days, selling raffle tickets and contributing to the warm and welcoming atmosphere that made the clubhouse feel like home to so many.

Her crocheting also brought a particularly personal touch to the team, with Gerry creating a small bear to serve as a good luck mascot — a wonderful reflection of the care, kindness and affection she had for the club and those involved with it.

She was a special part of the club’s history and will be greatly missed.

A minute’s applause will be held ahead of Bosham FC’s fixture against Alfold on Saturday, 5 September (3pm k.o), as the club comes together to remember Gerry and celebrate her life.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Gerry’s family and friends at this time.

Gerry's funeral will take place at Chichester Crematorium on Wednesday, September 23 at 2.30pm

Donations can be made here, with proceeds to St Wilfreds Hospice.
