After two tough opening games against Paviours and West Bridgford the U16s were looking for confidence boosting performance against Spalding on Sunday.
The last couple of seasons have seen some strong performances against our nearest neighbours and the boys were confident going into the game. Glad to say that wasn’t misplaced. Boston showed real attacking flair throughout the game, scoring ten tries through a combination of both power from the forward pack alongside sweeping moves and great handling led by the backs.
Huge thanks also to the boys who pulled on Spalding shirt to keep the match competitive. They all played with huge commitment on the field despite with unfamiliar players and up against their own teammates - Ridas and Lewis (first half) and Iestyn and Tom M (second half).
Final score: 58-10
Player of the match nominated by Spalding was Harry Simpson - much deserved after scoring two tries on his Boston debut!
