UNDER 7s
A new look and relatively inexperienced under 7's team played three games in Pool A, and although they tried valiently they unfortunately did not register a win. In their first game a lot of forward passing and knock-ons turned the game over to Spalding too many times which Spalding then capitalised on, and saw Boston lose 7-1 with Turner scoring Boston's only try. In the second game, Boston played better but ended up losing 4 - 1 to Huddersfield 1st's, with Turner again scoring Boston's only try. In the final game in Pool A, it saw Boston play Southwell to see who would take 3rd position in Pool A, and in a much tighter game saw Turner score 3 times for Boston, but the slightly older team from Southwell scored 4 times to win 4-3 overall.
Spalding progressed as Pool A winners to progress to the cup final, and Huddersfield 1st's progressed to the plate final, following both teams securing 2 wins and draw each - Spalding progressed to the cup final based on tries scored.
In Pool B Market Rasen progressed to the cup final, with Notts Moderns progressing to the plate final, with both teams with 2 wins and draw - Market Rasen progressed to the cup final based on tries scored.
In the cup final, Market Rasen beat Spalding 7-4, and in the plate final Huddersfield and Notts Moderns drew 2-2. Huddersfield won the plate final based on tries scored in their Pool games.
Although they did not enjoy success in their matches, it was invaluable experience for new players to enjoy the occassion and format of a festival. The Boston team was Vickers, Clifton, Rooney, Ward, Turner, Young and Douglass.

Team : Matthew Green , Thomas Smith , Tom Welberry , James Bray , Charlie Baker , Charlie Willis , Tyler Sykes
The U8s competed in the annual Boston Mini Tournament in a 4 team mini league. As Boston didn’t have any substitutes it was very tiring for the boys to play 4 matches as the weather was extremely warm and the pitches were large.
However Boston battled hard in each game against some strong opposition and only narrowly lost 3 matches but did win their final match. This meant that they did not qualify for the final but thoroughly enjoyed their day.
