A combined Under 7's and 8's side made the trip on a very unusually sunny day to Bourne to play against Bourne and Peterborough.
Boston made a very bright start to their first match against Bourne, with Boston taking an early two try lead against quite a young and newly established Bourne team. By half time Boston had a commandable 5-1 lead, with Willis and Young both finding lots of width on the wings. In the second half Boston increased their advantage with Rooney and Ward scoring their first trys for Boston, and eventually winning 9-2. Try scorers were Willis (3), Turner, Rooney, Young (3) and Ward.
The second match was against a very well organised Peterborough side, that had also defeated Bourne. The first half was very tight, and was the two teams trading points. Some good tagging from Boston kept them in the game, as a very good Peterborough side missed opportunities by running the ball out. The second half was much the same, and came down to the last play of the game with Turner scoring Bostons winning try, with a score of 8-7 to Boston. Try scorers were Willis (4), Turner, Rooney, Ward and Vickers.
Boston played well in both games, with some very good passing.
The team was Douglass, Roberts, Rooney, Turner, Vickers, Ward, Willis and Young.
