In what was the first league game of the season for the 3rds at first seemed to be a very winnable game, struggled to get going from the off.
Lacking a front row bournville had to go uncontested from the off, with players in the pack moving around to unfamiliar positions. Despite this the boys gave everything they could.
Bournville went down quickly with old hales scoring a number of fast tries through there wingers, who should have been pinged for not releasing on a number of occasions.
Despite the score racking up in old hales favour bournville 3rds never say die attitude and support of one another one through by way of getting on the score sheet with Brendan passing out to Mason Clarke in his first appearance for the 3rds along with Marc McDonald. Mason drew the men before passing out to capt Jason Hammond to go over in the corner.
The game ended with a 50-5 loss, but bournville 3rds battled right to the end getting more aggressive in the tackle and ruck and coming close to adding to the score on a number of occasions through Sam Aporta and Joni sands.
The 3rds continue there rebuilding and progression next week at home to old yardlieans. We look forward to seeing you there
