This week bournville 3rds went into the pool and came out against Bromsgrove 4th. A team filled with seasoned veterans against a hurting bournville 3rds looking for their first win since Camp Hill in September.
Bournville started well defending very well, making very good improvements on getting to the defensive line much quicker. Bounville held Bromsgrove well for much of the first half, but sadly the first time bournvilles defence was a little dog leg, Bromsgrove broke through for a score out wide.
Bournville pushed on and picked up a quick 3 points from a Brendan joy drop goal. Bournville went on to make very good runs through the Bromsgrove team, but sadly the majority of these runs were as a lone runner resulting in a turn over due to no support. This and the lack of good refereeing resulted in bounville conceedimg a number of tries.
In the second half not much changed, with bounville coming close to scoring on a number of occasions but continued veteran tricks caused bounville these chances. Bounville did bring the score back to 17-10 when scrum half Brad PRymachuck went through following a scrum and ran half the field down the wing to score between the sticks. Conversation was made by Brendan joy..
Sadly Bromsgrove ran in 2 further tries to finish the game winning 29-10. Credit must be given to Bournville who demonstrated a massive improvement this week in defence.
