Bournville thirds made the long drive to Evesham this week to play there 2nds. The match was possibly Bounvilles best performance in the league despite the loss showing lots of improvments in the defensive line, progressing on form last week, as well as making some good runs. Despite this Bounville are still suffereing at the breakdown, getting turned over due to either not getting to the breakdown in time or not being aggressive enough in the ruck.
During the first half bounville played the majority of the half inside there own 22, putting up a good defensive marker but inevitably sucumbed to the pressure with Evesham scoring out wide. This in some way caused the boys to drop there heads a little and lots of little mistakes cost bounville a number of tries. Praise must go to Brogan Kambo and Jason Hammond for putting in some good try saving tackles.
At the break Capt Jason Hammond and No.10 Brendan Joy spoke to the team about working together as a unit, to fight for the badge on their chests and for each other, as well as sharing alot of praise for a much improved scrum and line out performance.
The second half showed a massive improvement from bounville with the whole half played in eveshams half of the pitch. Some great yards were made at times by Mason Clarke and make shift No.9 Brad Pryjmachuck, but sadly nothing came from these due to poor breakdown work. Even more frustrating was the fact that bounrville conceeded a number of tries on breakaway runs from evesham.
Final Score was 39-0 to Evesham, but again it must be said a massive improvement from Bounville and it can been seen that wins are on the horizon.
