What a year we have had with some of our girls getting into the north Midlands side and then we sore the first girl from Bournville reach the Midlands squad well done girls. I know this season has been hard and difficult sometimes especially with girls out at county games but we held it together and finished a very respectful 3rd place. WELL DONE GIRLS.
Well on a very sunny Sunday morning we travelled to Berkswell & Balsall for the last game of the season and what a great way to finish the season off with girls reaching the final but losing to Shipston. Our first game was against Bromyard which we won 9-2, the next game was against Yardley which finished a draw 5-5 this put us through as winners of the pool on try count back. The next game was the semi-final against Evesham which we won 8-3, so into the final we went to face Shipston which we lost 3-5. Today we sore both of our new girls score a try each well done girls. Player of the tournament went to Jess.
This season we say goodbye to 3 of our older girls, after many years of rugby at the club I think combined is over 30yrs they move on to new things and a new chapter in their lives. From all the girls the coaching staff I would like to wish Alanna Burton, Lucy Bayliss and Georgia Shore all the best for the future in what you choose to do, all three of you will be missed. Good luck Girls. We also say goodbye to my right hand man Pete Willetts for nearly 7yrs assisting me in shaping and pushing the girls to be the best that they can be taking them from 4/5 in the league to back to back champions 14 & 15 season and 3rd place this season.
On behalf of me & Pete I would like to thank all the parents for their endless support in making sure the girls are either at training or matches as without you we could not run the team so thank you.
