Bradford HC have secured £11,700.00 in funding from Sport England to engage Children across our community in Hockey.

We are excited to announce Bradford Hockey Club (BHC) has been awarded a small grant to support future development, following a successful grant application to Sport England by the club committee.

As a multi-generational club, with members aged 6–76, we are committed to providing high-quality coaching and development opportunities throughout the club. The focus of this grant application was on growing junior engagement through closer collaboration with our local schools.

With the funds awarded, we will:

  • Buy new equipment for the club in order to improve our facilities and training to support In2Hockey 7 a-side games and tournaments..
  • Invest in further development for our coaching team.
  • Create development opportunities for junior leaders and umpires.
  • Deliver outreach programmes to the 15 BDAT primary schools (Part of the same trust as Bradford Girls Grammar School), giving hundreds of Bradford children the opportunity to try the fun, fast-paced sport of hockey. These schools will also play an important role in encouraging junior players to join the club and continue to develop their hockey skills outside of school hours.

The awarding of this grant is a real boost to the club and will enable us to continue to develop our junior section, in turn providing a more structured and sustainable transition for players moving into our senior squads. As we work towards funding and purchasing our own facilities on Scotchman Road, the continued growth and development of the club remains our focus.
