1. History 1


It was in 1963 that a group of rugby playing ex-pupils of Margaret Tabor Secondary School founded Braintree Rugby Club. The original players used a local hostelry as its headquarters, and fielded one team during the first two seasons. By 1967 they were able to field three teams using pitches provided by the local District Council.
Founder member Eddie Parsley is still President, and fellow founder member Will Saward organises the popular old boys pre match lunches.
