We did it again !!!

Braintree took 12 boys to the Chelmsford festival today.

Braintree v Harlow: 20:30
Tries scored by: Ben Cakebread, George Morris (2), Callum Thompson

The first game of the day proved to be a difficult match for the Braintree boys, as they had two tries disallowed for being put down just short of the try line. The Braintree side also struggled to tag the opposing team, but they kept pushing forward and supported each other well, so it was no easy win for Harlow.

Braintree v Chelsmford Blues: 45:15
Tries scored by: Elliot Jones (3), George Morris, Callum Thompson (3), Cameron Renton (2)

The boys were back on form in this game and blew their opposition away by piling on the pressure, moving in close to tag and taking quick advantage of Chelmsford's dropped balls. The Braintree side also managed to force turnovers by tagging quickly.

Braintree v Brentwood: 10:25
Tries scored by: Elliot Jones, Cameron Renton.

Another tough game for Braintree saw them lose out to Brentwood. However Braintree kept pressure on Brentwood, who only really managed to pull ahead towards the end of the game.

Braintree took third place in their pool, which meant they went through to the semi-final of the plate:
Braintree v Chelmsford Whites: 30:15
Tries scored by: Callum Thompson (2), Cameron Renton (3), Thomas Bloomfield,

A fantastic quick game of rugby. Braintree kept the pressure on Chelmsford and with good support and a fast pace they were soon ahead. Braintree took full advantage of the gaps in Chelmsford's defence to storm home to victory and win a place in the final.

Braintree v Maldon: 25:20
Tries scored by: Elliot Jones (3), CAllum Thompson, Thomas Bloomfield

This was a very close and fast paced match. Braintree showed good ball handling skills and moved the ball along the pitch very quickly using switches to outwit their opponents. This was a well deserved win after some terrific teamwork by Braintree.
