We went across to Hadleigh for a festival this morning coming off the back of a festival last week and a great training session on Wednesday night. Entering the festival with three teams numbers were good on our behalf. With the three teams selected Braintree u7s went to work on the other teams winning games and seeing us playing each other in the semi finals. It is hard when this happens as we all enter as one team and win as a team. Playing in the semis was two of our teams which is so hard. The boys didn't once let it bother them they were there to play rugby and both done that coming in at full time it was a draw so we now had extra time to play and again both Braintree teams battled it out and came out of the game at full time with one point difference which means a superb game. One team out of three into the final which then saw our other team playing Stowmarket.... a win for braintree would see it as a Braintree v Braintree final. The boys set out in the game knowing what they had to do. Braintree battled played good rugby and come out with a win which means we know have a Braintree v Braintree final. All the coaches had a chat to decide if we played it or not the game was played with the two finalist playing with our other team playing a half for one team and the other half for the other team with great rugby being played by all the players. Playing in the final is the main thing which meant we went into a festival as team and we won and come runners up as a team.
For me and the other coaches the hard work we and the boys have put in has payed off. With what I would say is the best rugby we have played in a long time was great to see by us all and the parents and grandparents. The comments coming from other clubs is very pleasing so a big well done to you boys.
There always comes a time of proudness and for sure we are all that today a big thanks to everyone for there support.
What else can be said apart from CHAMPIONS
