Braintree 8's Win

It was a cold over cast early morning, Braintree 8's were down in squad size with only 9 players out of 17 due to sickness, Chelmsford had a squad of 35. We were more than happy to borrow 3 of their team to allow us to field two mixed ability teams and with a couple of new players in the team the boys were warmed up and ready to play.

Both teams started well and all the previous weeks training was paying off they were getting into space and in support when attacking and their defence was second to none no tag was going untouched, if a stray player got through the main defensive line there was always two in reserve to make sure it was hard for Chelmsford to try and score.

Each team played two games and in both they were clear winners, Chelmsford were a great team and I would have been more than happy to keep the three boys that they lent us as their coaches said they played harder against their own team than they do against others.

All in all the boys done very well, the parents and coaches are very happy with the way they played and bonded.
