Strong Challenge for Under 13's

A home game of 4 quarters played against an Ipswich team in only the second game of the season. An evenly matched game in the first 2 quarters where the defence from both teams was solid, resulting in a scoreline of 1 try each (Elliott Voke for B'Tree) The tide turned in Ipswich's favour in the 3rd & 4th quarter of the match with some strong direct running from some of the Ipwich players breaking through our defence, resulting in a scoreline of 0-2 and 1-3 in the final 2 quarters (Charlie Booty for B'Tree). The larger squad of players available to Ipswich, rotating through the match played a factor, Braintree starting to tire losing their own put-in at the scrum at key times, also the increasing dominance of the ruck by Ipswich took its toll, resulting in the lack of possession of the ball B'Tree had available to use. An overall final score of Ipswich 6 - B'tree 2 was a fair reflection of the match overall, with plenty for Braintree to work on for the challenges ahead.
