Great Team Effort

A festival today at Ipswich, we arrived with a desire to put right the wrongs of the festival we attended in November. Having been placed in the 'Development' pool of teams we knew it would still be down to hard work to start well and have some success, and the B'tree team certainly did. First up was Colchester 'B' who we had success against a couple of weeks ago in a fixture, in short 15 minute matches we soon showed a desire and were driving forwards looking for the opening score, good attacking play soon got us on the scoreboard. Braintree didn't have it all there own way with a strong winger on the Colchester side showing some pace to score twice for them. Ultimately B'tree were to strong and finished winners 20-10. A quick turnaround for Braintree and onto the second match against Bury Wolf Hounds, this was always going to be a tough one based on previous experience and proved so, Bury were strong in defence and were getting the upper hand in the scrum but B'tree's attacking play with the possession they won proved decisive in producing a 5-0 win.

A break until the next game hopefully wouldn't impact on the momentum building in the B'tree team, once the third game got under way against FYM Barbarians it showed B'tree's confident style of play was to continue against a makeshift but determined team. Again our attack was strong and direct, but B'tree's defence was now proving impenetrable, stopping the opposition scoring when being tested by FYM, the final score being 10-0. Last but not least was Ipswich 'B', a last big effort by B'tree would be required to be victorious against good opposition. The game got underway and the players showed no sign of fatigue giving 100% in going for the win, Ipswich equally were determined but it was B'tree again that had the desire to finish the day unbeaten, a great defensive display by B'tree again proved to be the deciding factor that ultimately lead to a 5-0 win for Braintree.
4 wins from 4 games was a great afternoons work for the Braintree team, and only conceding 2 tries was a great effort, well done all.
