A statement from the club regarding Return To Play

Re: Update on Return to Play (RTP)
Dear Members

We hope everyone is keeping safe and well on these unprecedented times.
Most of you will have seen the RFL press release regards the phased return of community Rugby League, which is a huge milestone for the sport. This brings back the ability to train as full squads, re-introduce inclusion sports such as touch and tag RL and in October the re-introduction of full contact RL (dependent on the national and local public health guidance).

The Committee have been working hard in the background attending meetings from the RFL and the council to try get the kids back training but we as a club felt at the time we were not in a situation to protect the children and parents from Covid-19.

As you will understand there are measures a club has to put in place to meet the criteria set by the RFL to Return to Play. We are still waiting on the guidance from the RFL of what these may be, but some include a club COVID-19 Risk Assessment, Club Covid Officer and a number of control measures in place set by our risk assessment.

Every club is at a different stage and has different circumstances to put there measures in place, and like ourselves not all clubs will be able to return on the 10th of August. We have started our risk assessment and when complete we have to have this approved by the RFL. We cannot give an exact date as to when this will be all complete and ready to go for us as a club but we will keep you updated when we have more

Thank you for your continued support in these tough times.
Stay Safe
The Committee
