Another Saturday another big game down at the hallowed Boston Manor playing fields. As Brent took on Tiffs. Stevo (the gaffer) named a youthful squad. Tiffs started the game with only 11 men as their subs were late.

Game started with Brent dominating the game. Brent took the lead after 3 mins with Rahul putting in a ball that was deflected in so went down as an OG. The next action came from Berto who threw himself into a challenge got up, threw himself straight into another one which was a bit naughty but he got away with it. Brent continued to control the game with Jamie and Fenton giving a good solid base, allowing Gary to do his bits in the hole. Gary was dominating the game, every time he picked up the ball he drove at the Tiffs defence. On 3 occasions he managed to get a shot off, 1 hit the cross bar the others found the trees.

We then got our second from a corner, the cross came in, Tiffs headed it out wide where Rahul picked it up on the edge of the box and let a low drive go, into the bottom left corner. 2-0 Brent after 20 mins. Stevo then decided to bring on Reeago for the white Heskey, as well as one of the scorers from our last pre season game, young Hanif.

Brent then had 3 more chances falling to Jamie, Cal and Gary before we got the 3rd goal. Lovely move consisting of 12 passes. Ended up on the right, Rahul plays a beautiful ball (some would call him the natural outlet ;) into the box to find Cal who’s movement caused the Tiffs defenders nightmares all game, he got a glancing header into the far left corner. Brent continued to dominate the game up to half time.

At half time Stevo brought on Yousif in CM told the side to go out and finish the game with another quick goal.

Second half was much of the same with Tiffs now having their subs on, 1 of which we would just kick people the whole half and 1 that rolled around when he got tackled. Brent were dominating the middle of the park. Thanks to Jamie and Fenton. Some good play again from Brent saw Cal get his second goal of the game like a prime Kenny Miller he nipped in at the near post as Tiff’s GK spilt the ball and fired it into the roof of the net. Brent then had a few more chances to increase their lead. Then a cultured ball up the pitch from Berto that Gary connected with and managed to muscle the Tiffs Cb out of, sprinted away rounded the keeper and that made it 5-0.

Then to put the icing on the cake for Brent we win a free kick 30yrs out from goal. As no proper FK takers were on the pitch it fell to Fenton Parker Ronaldo to step up and hit the worst free kick that dribbled along the ground and into the bottom corner. What made this worse was the fact he then proceeded to do the Ronaldo celebration…think he’s been playing too much FIFA. After the game Fenton admitted he was going for the top left and just hit it wrong but at the end of the day they all count.

The whistle blew on a great performance from Brent with a convincing 6-0 win. Just the response Stevo was looking for after last week heartbreak loss.
