One of the greatest attributes of Brentwood Eels is our culture, this conjured usually by our coaches in the way we play Rugby League. Another massive contributing factor is giving the young guys responsibility, Firstly by helping them recognise and praising those qualities that make our club and the people involved what they are today.
We are able to fund these great “off the field” memories via the Jack Petchey Achievement Awards and where our club is currently ranked at BRONZE level. We get three opportunities to recognise our clubs players a year! (Two for Jan to June & One Sep-Nov).
The club is really keen to push on to the next bracket of recognition which will be SILVER and enable us to double our entries for the year up to SIX, with the nominees able to spend up £250 towards their choice, this is a great initiative the club wants to make the most of!
For the winners here is a rough idea of what can be funded...
So if we could get nominations back before SATURDAY JUNE 8TH we will then use our previous winners from last year Rhys Cotter & David Baker to help pick the winners before this sections deadline June 30th.
They can nominate their teammates (Aged 11-25) for a wide range of achievements. It is not about the fastest, the smartest or being the best. The award is designed to recognise outstanding individual achievements - in or outside of rugby league.
These achievements can include:
• Helping others over and above expectations
• Being a good role model/mentor
• Showing bravery
• Overcoming a personal challenge or breaking through a personal barrier
