Brentwood U16s began their season with a friendly away to Hertford, with the game split in to 6 x 20 minute sessions to maximise the game time for everybody, with squads being mixed to try out different combinations. The sessions were competitive and intense, with Brentwood edging 3 sessions by a solitary score in each, and in the remaining 3 sessions Brentwood's fringe players were too strong for their valiant Hertford opponents, with newcomer Matt Bowring celebrating his debut with 4 tries and the tackle of the day, if not the season. The rest of the squad have something to live up to.
