the one where Glenda slipped further down the table

Morning all,

Week 18 and 3 wins from the 3 games played can't be bad. It wasn't the highest score of the day, and the bowlers didn't do badly either, but performance of the week must have been by Jamie Lunn with his match winning 49 no. in the 1sts crucial win over Eastnor. A last wicket partnership of 65 with Robbie Byrne and 20 runs from the last over says it all. Harri Taylor (yes him again!) with 67 set the platform for the 2nds victory which was sealed with 5 wickets for Trav. A supposedly weakened 3rd team batting line up notched 251 runs against Pelsall CC with Carey (snr) getting 70 and Alex Gray hitting his maiden half century (51). The opposition were then skittled out by Alex Punter and Nick Redrup with 5 and 4 wickets respectively. Despite these achievements the game will probably be remembered for Ben Walton taking 4 catches, 3 of them at fly slip. Good captaincy Matt and well held Ben.

At the top of the table Paul Walton hasn't given up the chase and closed the gap on John Bird. At the bottom it is still junior Redrup chasing his dad. Elliot Griffiths might be languishing in the bottom half of the table but he was this weeks top scorer with 205 points followed by Paul Walton (197), Sandra (the top Redrup) Redrup (184), Carey snr (177) and Nick Redrup snr (175). All season we have been following the progress of reigning champion Glenda. Despite his impressive performances on the field his performance in the fantasy cricket league started badly and has fallen away. This week saw him achieve a miserable 56 points. He has fallen into the bottom 4 of the table. I hope that he can't read this from on holiday!!

Week 19 will include scores from the floodlit T20 and week 20 will include two Sunday matches so still plenty of room for change.

A quick advert for the 2's and 3's playing at home this afternoon. Why not come along and have a pint. Tomorrow the Sunday XI are at home to Coventry Ramblers (no I don't know them either!) and the T20 side are visiting Cannock CC.

Time to get my pads on now.

Cheers
Andy
