Congratulations to all those involved. Unfortunately the 2nd team fixture was a victim of the weather and Penkridge CC were unable to field a team against the 4ths. This means that some players have yet to take to the field yet this season, so don’t panic if your team is down at the bottom of the league table.
Chief wicket taker for the 1sts was debutant Chris Tranter with 4 wickets. In the 3rds Ally Carey (4) and James Mackie (3) ripped out the Hawkins top order. On Sunday Ben Walton took his 3 wickets in the space of 6 balls.

With all teams chasing small targets there wasn’t an opportunity for many batsmen to shine. Harri Taylor lead the way on Sunday with 47 n.o ably supported by Nick Bill (14 n.o). Thomason (22), Fox (18) and Hewitt (16) contributed to the 1sts success. In the 3rds Cook (28 n.o) and Gray (13) were the top scorers.
Richie Rawlinson and Dave Betts both took 2 catches behind the stumps. Robbie Byrne took 3 catches over the weekend so well done if you have him as your fielder
.
It has been noticed that at the fall of every wicket on Saturday and Sunday, Matt Gibbons was heard to say that it meant another 10 points for him. I can assure you that he has 11 players like everyone else.

In the fantasy league this week the top three points scorers were Ally Carey (183), John Redrup (151) and Robbie Byrne (151).
I have spotted a couple of mistakes in my league table from last week and I hope that all the teams are now correct. It now means that we have a new leader in Ally Carey followed by Matt Gibbons and Tom Bird. The full league table is shown below. Don’t forget the May manager of the month starts tomorrow.
