Thistle J.F.C. v Ellon

It was a tough day for both teams in Ellon today with the elements playing a big part.  Fraser Stark started in Goal for Thistle making his Debut for the Club.
 
Thistle started the game with a Shot from kick off by Alexander which was on target but didn’t trouble the keeper.
A few moments later Thistle were a awarded a throw in which resulted in a corner.  The ball was ball played across the box by Craig, Wozniak flicked the ball on to Alexander who shot but it was cleared away by Ellon.
 
5 minutes later Thistle were on the attack again when Rennie played a ball threw the gap of the Ellon Defense to Alexander but his shot was blocked once again.
 
In the 10th minute it was another corner to Thistle.  A good swung in ball by Craig was met by the head of Simpson which went narrowly wide.
 
The game turned a few minutes later with Ellon on the attack which resulted in a number of corners in quick succession. A shot from the Ellon player hit the bar then out for another corner which was cleared well by Wilson.
2 minutes later Holt switched the play to Alexander who skipped past the Ellon defender and hit a shot which was put over the bar by the Ellon Keeper.
 
In the 17th minute a combination of passes between Alexander, Craig and Wozniak Opened up the Ellon defense once again but the ball was cleared well by the Ellon centre half.
 
With 25 minutes gone, a Lazy back pass from Wozniak allows Ellon in on goal but a good save by Stark denied the Ellon Striker.
 
In the 44th minute a cross from out wide was met by the Ellon number 9, who fires just wide of the Thistle Goal.
 
Half time 0-0
 
Thistle started the second half in to the wind.
 
A good link up between the Ellon front two opened up space in the Thistle back line, Stark was on his toes and made a good save low on his line to deny Ellon from scoring.
 
In the 60th minute Ellon were awarded a Free kick half way in to the Thistle Half. A quick free kick was taken which saw Massie shoot but it ended up well wide.
 
A moment later Ellon shot from edge of The Thistle box but the shot was well held by Stark.
A moment later Ellon were through one on one with Stark but the keeper spread himself well and the shot came off the keepers far post.
 
Thistle gained a throw in deep in the Ellon half, it’s was played short to Petrie who fired a deep cross to the Ellon back post which went narrowly over the bar.
 
In the 72nd minute a Great cross in from Thistle was met by Alexander after a great run, Alexander was fouled in the box but no penalty given, Less than a minute later a great ball was played over the back of the Ellon defense where once again it was collected by Alexander and he was fouled in the box but no penalty was given. By this time Thistle were starting to ask questions of the Ellon back four.
 
After good play by Craig the ball falls to Taylor 20 yards out, he shoots but the ball comes off Mcinnes and out for a goal kick,
 
A few moments later a free kick to Thistle was played short to short Craig who swung in a good cross but it was headed over the bar by Thistle.
 
With only a few minutes left Thistle were in full Atack.  Rennie completed a good one two with Alexander, who ran through to put the ball low in the Corner of the goal past the Ellon Keeper.

In the final minute of the game a good ball through the Ellon defence drops to Mcinnes who puts the ball over the diving keeper.
