Thistle had another home game today, this time against the away side East End in what can't be described as the cleanest of games but still saw the home team take all 3 points.
Thistle were straight on the attack today from the whistle to put pressure on East End and any retaliation from the travelling team was being brought to a quick stop by the defence, preventing any real chances being made in the opening 10 minutes. Thistle were winning the ball midfield and there was some good control being shown by the back four.
A free kick 15 minutes in was taken by CRAIG but was cleared, and then a well played ball minutes later failed to be met by any players to convert the chance into a goal scoring opportunity. 20 minutes in and the game was still 0-0. Although Thistle weren't finding the net, defence were preventing any chances being made by the opposition.
As the first half was coming to a close, it seemed it was going to remain goalless. This was until a free kick taken quickly at 39 minutes allowed for an excellent cross to be made by an ALEXANDER which was met by WOZNIAK who hit the back of the net.

Thistle kept up the tempo from the goal and the score line could have been doubled minutes after but ALEXANDER's shot after beating the player went wide. This was shortly followed by a great throw just in front of goal at the 45 minute mark but was cleared to take the game to half time.

The second half started with a free kick awarded to the home team, for another to be awarded straight after, this time nearer goal. This allowed for some good play between HOLT and WILSON but the chance was blocked.
A foul on ALEXANDER minutes later gave Thistle another free kick in an attacking position but the shot hit the wall. East End tried to gain on this at the other end of the pitch but was shot wide of goal with no danger for PARK.
Thistle's defence were standing strong against East End and were getting the ball up-field but weren't making the most of the chances in front of goal, until 15 minutes into the second half where ALEXANDER was taken down in the box and Thistle were awarded the penalty. CRAIG scored from the penalty spot to give Thistle the second game of the match.

The next 20 minutes of play were scrappy, with a number of free kicks being awarded but Thistle weren't converting chances into goals but were not allowing anything to come from the messy play and comfortably holding onto the lead.
The final 10 minutes allowed for some better play upfront and another great ball into the box from a throw-in had the potential to give Thistle another goal in the closing minutes but the ball was cleared.
It can be said that open play today was not good enough for Bridge of Don standards but Thistle carried on to take home all 3 points.
