Losing a couple of early wickets after skipper Alex Thomas decided to bat first in very warm and sunny conditions, Evans (104) combined with Ryan Wheldon (39) to produce the match defining century partnership. The visitors bowled well early on to make run-scoring tough for the home side, but Evans brutal acceleration after the drinks break enabled his side to post a strong total of 183-6.
Hinstock batted cautiously early on against Bridgnorth opening bowlers Thomas and Sam Baugh, and were just 31-2 at the halfway point. However, the visitors accelerated late in their innings as Bridgnorth looked for wickets, latching onto some loose deliveries to pierce a largely unguarded boundary.
However, swing bowler Baugh returned to take his third wicket of the game, continuing his excellent recent form, and effected a run out as Hinstock were held just 15 runs short of an upset.
