Bridgnorth host another successful Primary School Tournament

Future stars of hockey show their skills


"Despite the heavy downpour across the county, youngsters from in and around Bridgnorth gathering en-mass to participate in the Bridgnorth Primary Schools' Hockey Tournament on Sunday. Teams from Castlefields, St. Johns and Coalbrookdale and Ironbridge Primary Schools competed, as well as a side put forward by Bridgnorth Hockey Club. The round robin competition saw a vast array of talent on show with both boys and girls dazzling parents and teachers alike with their spectacular hockey abilities. After a morning of fantastic hockey, St. Johns' A Team lifted the trophy after squeezing past Coalbrookdale and Ironbridge in the final.

James Childs, Bridgnorth Hockey Club Chairman, said: "It has been fantastic to see so many young people participate and enjoy their hockey. I have been impressed with the high standard of play which has been on show throughout the tournament."
