Saturdays home encounter for the Zebras saw the return to the Hawthorns of Asa Ingall, the former captain played for Dave Mclean in the latter part of his time at the club and will be remembered for his tough tackling and un compromising at all costs attitude.
He joins the club in a joint role alongside Gary Patton and will replace Phil Jackman at Brigg Town.
When it comes to the game it was Kidsgrove Athletic who made the long journey from the potteries on what was a very windy day.
The Zebras had the wind in the first half but it was Kidsgrove who started well taking an early lead, the Kidsgrove forward handled in the box but it was not seen by Referee and that allowed the impressive Anthony Malbon to slot home. Only 6 minutes later the Zebras failed to pick up a ball played wide right and the cross was finished by the prolific David Walker.
For the majority of the season when Brigg have gone 2 behind so early they would roll over and suffer a big defeat but this was not the case on Saturday.
It took motivation from the bench and the continued support from the bumper 120 crowd to spur the home side on and on 27 minutes the officials spotted a handball in the box which gave the home side a penalty which Tyler Collishaw scored sending the visiting keeper the wrong way.
At half time Patton and Ingall changed the formation and this allowed a more flowing play which also stopped Malbon running the show.
Brigg began to move the ball well and found much more space down the left hand side and this allowed Tyler Collishaw to put the home side level on 62 minutes and score his second of the day. As much as Brigg tried they could not get that little bit of look required to fashion that winning goal but everybody at the game knows that the tide is turning for the Zebras and that has been helped by the signing of 8 new faces, they and rest of the squad will visit Chasetown on Saturday for the next Evo-Stik outing.
Tuesday evening will see the Zebras play Grimsby Borough in a friendly fixture at the Bradley Stadium K.O 7.45.
