Brigg avenged their 1-0 loss at Bottesford Town defeating Appleby Frodingham 4-1.
Individual goals by Scott Neary and Charlie Dolling gave Brigg a 2-0 lead at half time.
Brigg brought on three substitutes at the interval. One of them was Jack Tierney, who scored almost immediately from Tom Pearson’s cross.
In the second half Matty Davies came on - he also made an impact with a goal soon afterwards. Pearson was the provider again whipping in a corner for Davies to head home.
Appleby Frodingham’s Max Batty got a consolation late on.
Brigg were unlucky not to score even more goals. Joe Moloney was denied by the crossbar twice and many chances were created.
The Zebras have now won three out of four in pre-season.
Assistant manager Simon Roach was happy.
“Apart from conceding a late goal it was terrific! Everyone played well and we won 4-1 against a strong side.
“I remember when we drew 3-3 with Appleby Frodingham last year. We’ve come a long way since then and did much better this time.
“We moved the ball around well and created plenty of chances. Even more goals could have been scored - four was more than enough for us though.
“We’ve now won three out of four friendly games. That’s promising and I’m pleased with all the lads.
“We’re having a good pre-season.”
On Saturday, Brigg visit Harworth Colliery in a friendly (kick off 3pm).
