Harry Burke's late winner gave Borough a win over Brigg. A 0-0 draw seemed likely until he struck on 85 minutes.
Brigg's defending was excellent in a goalless first half.
In the second half Brigg continued to defend well. They also created chances with Jake Reed and Charlie Dolling coming close.
However, Burke's late goal resulted in a narrow defeat.
Brigg's performance was good against higher league opponents.
Manager Lee Thompson was content.
"I was glad that we matched a higher team for long periods. They got a late winner, but we played well so I can handle it.
"Our effort and work rate off the ball was excellent. We also had promising spells on the ball, especially in the second half.
"It was a good workout for the lads against a strong side. Everyone put a shift in as we continue to prepare for the season.
"The new signings are still impressing and Stu Longbone was man of the match. His all round performance and hold up play was terrific.
"All in all, I was quite pleased."
